There is an assumption we make about flowers. That they belong to softness. To femininity. To the gentle and the delicate and the safe.
This series exists to dismantle that assumption.
Darkness in Bloom places the floral in the shadows — not to diminish it, but to reveal what it has always contained. These are not pretty pictures of pretty things. They are studies in contradiction: fragility and force, tenderness and threat, the feminine and the masculine occupying the same breath, the same stem, the same darkness.
The flowers here do not apologise for the dark they grow from. And why should they? There is a truth in that — that beauty is not diminished by its origins, however ugly or twisted or difficult those origins may be. Something can be born from darkness and become extraordinary — not because of what was done, but in defiance of it. Transformation doesn't require clean beginnings, and beauty is not diminished by the ugliness it had to survive.
Light falls on these blooms not to rescue them, but to expose what was already there: power dressed in petals. Strength that has been mistaken, repeatedly, for weakness. The ominous and the exquisite, inseparable.
This is what the series asks you to hold — not one thing or the other, but both, at once, without resolution. Dark and light. Hard and soft. Fragile and formidable.
All of it, coexisting. All of it, true.
It's a powerful body of work. Good luck with it — and with everything it stands for.
